This is resume of the Departmental profile of the Department of Sociology.  This department was established in the year June 1950 with the establishment of institution itself.  Since the day of the inception of this department it has become one of the major departments of this college.  It would be improper to avoid the references of Faculty members who have contributed in the overall development of this Department.  Few of the following Faculties can’t be ignored.

They were well known lecturer and retired HOD at this College. 

This department was established to make the students sociologically  aware about the social facts in the human society in general and Indian.  Society in particular Professor Borawadekar S. N. of this department is Ex. Programme officer of N. S. S. Department.  Prof. D. K. Dake is Assistant Professor of Gopal Krishna Gokhale College, Kolhapur.  He is working as a Chairman of Remedial Coaching.

The department gives the “Vaidya Award” to a girl who stood 1st in T.Y.B.A. (Sociology) class from 2012-13.  Which is sponsored by Vaidya foundation, Sangli.
