The department of physics was established in 1958 with pre-degree science class. Physics has been taught as principal subject at the degree level. Electronics was started in 1989. The department has always placed equal emphasis both on teaching and research. The department has completed three minor research projects and number of research publication in renewed journals is about 105.  The major research area of the department is material science, nonmaterials, and ferrite gas and humidity sensors. 

The number of past student of our department is about 600. Many of who have settled in corporate and private services as teacher, industrialist, self employees, government service, defense service, hardware and software engineers etc. The staff members have been continuously encouraging the students in order to give better knowledge and use of it’s in their future life. The staff members as a team have done lot far the department and wish the flourish of the department in future.
